UKCC make the front page of Frankfort News Journal
UKCC's last game against FCC at Frankfort, was highlighted in the front page of the Kentucky State Journal. The article and some snaps are available in this link.
MCT FCC Vs UKCC - FCC ground
UK won the game with 4 wickets in hand. MOM - Abhijit Baghavatulla
UK won the toss and elected to field. FCC after a good start, lost regular wickets (K2 scalping 4) and scored 124/10 in 31 overs. UKCC played with its batting line up for the middle order to practice and found an upcoming setting batsman. With Abhijit's cramps from the extremely moist weather, and Akki's departure from just 4 balls, set in a certain panic among the group. The experience of Hari to stand with the lower middle order saw the game through for UKCC. Here is the link for the scorecard.
UKCC is practicing hard to cut the extras. We play GNCC at Medlar this Saturday.

CICC vs UKCC (game 6 of UCC T20)
Brief Summary: UKCC won comfortably by 9 wickets against CICC at Cereland Park. (CICC 134/8 - Abishek 54, Rohit B 4-0-12-2, Venkat 3-0-24-3; UKCC 135/1 in 18.2 overs, Hari 61*, Stavan 34*, Akshay 24, Rammohan 4-0-24-1)
Preview: With the KCC game being washed out, and an error from UKCC followed by some unsportsmanlike behavior from CCI made UKCC be at second position in the group D table. Although qualified for the knock outs, UKCC wanted a win against CICC to top the table. CICC which lacked the bowling options used the help of an ex-UKCCian (Rammohan) to lead the table.
Bulletin: CICC batting
CICC won the toss and opted to bat. The first over was not the best start for UKCC since Suvid started by erring slightly on line and the field being fast. The second over, Rohit B, with the help of some RCC spot bowling practice was great in hitting the deck, and swinging slightly. This gave UKCC the first wicket (Ameya), thanks to a good dive to his left by Russel. 3 overs and the scorecard read 24 runs. In over 4 Rohit B (4-0-12-2) banged the ball a bit shorter, and made the batsman Nande miscue the ball in the air that was taken easily by Pritesh. While the price wicket fell of Vishal fell for another miscued shot to Harsh at midwicket, bowled by Suvid (3-0-21-1), Abishek on the other end was striking and running hard at loose balls. With Ketu being played with care at one end (4-0-23-0), Prasanna and Pritesh tried their best to get wickets at the other end. But both Abishek and Alok powered against the two in the next 9 overs (10 overs they were 54/3). Venkat was introduced at the 15th over, and he also being bettered by RCC spot bowling practice, gave some air to the ball and brought the wicket of Abishek, caught at the midwicket boundary by Prasanna. Venkat played part in taking two more wickets, a run out where he threw the ball from the boundary to Rohit B and both switching roles in another over to contain CICC to 134.
UKCC chasing: Akshay took strike and drove ball 1 to the right of midwicket. A slip on the grass by non striker Hari, and an attempt to save his wicket pulled Hari's muscle. Although at the end of over 2 both Hari and Akki showed signs of aggression and were sighting the ball good, the score read 7. At the end of over 3, a six over long on dispatched by Hari, made Vishal to push one of his fielders to the boundary. This provided singles and twos. With Akshay showing uncomfortable signs of timing, the score read 30 at the end of 6 overs. Left arm off spinner Jacob and 'hitting short of good length' bowler Nande, pressured both the batsman by some good bowling. Some nice footwork followed by an inside out shot over covers by Hari for a six, and a four in the next over relieved the pressure and at the end of 10 overs the score read 53/0.
Over 11- ball 1 was a single. Ball 2 was slogged over wide long on for a six. Ball 3 after wide was another single. Ball 4, Akki danced down the track and could not reach the looped ball and so did not get any run. Hari walked to Akki and comforted him to do the same again, as the bowler won't expect it. Ball 5 - flatter ball at the right position for the trouncing Akki; POW!!! - the ball sailed so far and so high, that it would injustice to call it a six instead of a 10. Ball 6 was a sensible single. 15 of the over and this clearly set the tone for UKCC to easily win.
With Akki getting out the very next ball (24, a first time under 90 strike rate) to some good fast bowling by Rammohan, and only 3 scored of that over, the equation read 64 of 8 overs. A four from Stavan, and a couple of twos and singles from Hari, made the equation go to 7 per over. Over 14, Hari took a couple of more twos to reach his fifty (so called first fifty to many). Stavan caressed another four in the next over. Some bad running by Hari kept him stranded half way down the pitch. A fortune misfield made him come back into the crease. This along with running for 15 overs aggravated his muscle pull and caused cramps. With the equation reading 33 of 30 balls, a short ball pull for a four, and a few more runs from both Stavan and Hari showed victory at bay for UKCC.
History Made: The next over, Hari called none other than Motu/Banda "Akshay" to run for him. The very first run Akshay ran as a by-runner was supposed to be a run out, thanks to a slip by the fielder. :)) The very next ball, Hari retired with cramps in both the legs (61 runs with near 130 strike rate). Stavan (34* with an easy 160 strike rate), proving his potential yet again, smacked a sensational six over deep forward square leg (showed as a four by umpire Buddi) and Russel scored 3 of the only ball he faced. Stavan finished the game with 10 balls to spare. With Hari whacking the "MAYO" colored ball to his half century, he was awarded the man of the match. :P
Post game view: Another game, in which the top order stayed at least for the first 12 overs, brings slight concerns in batting practice for the lower middle order. But confidence still sways high, with practice sessions proving that UKCC has batting power till the last down. Bowling has been good in a way that everyone has taken multiple wickets in at least one game, proving that all bowlers are in their peak performance. With this comfortable win, UKCC will be considered dangerous in the knock out league. Hopefully, we remain dangerous to take the trophy.
